NMAEN Annual Picnic at the ParkOn the first evening of the Institute we adjourn from the sessions to nearby Gomez Peak Group Picnic Area for a cook out and relaxed opportunity to catch up with one another. This is a sober family event where children, pets, family members and guests are welcome. The cost of the picnic is included in registration. If you would like to carpool, or caravan, check in with the registration desk at GRC during the first day of the Institute. If you have things you need to do after the sessions, and want to come to the park later, you can download a map and directions. If you have any special dietary needs, feel free to let us know, and if you want to bring food for yourself, or to share, please feel free. NMAEN provides hot dogs, hamburgers, corn, baked potatoes and soda. If you are not able to make it to Monday's workshops, you are welcome to meet us at the park for dinner. If you have trouble locating us, please call one of the cell phone numbers on the flyer for assistance. You may use the hiking trails near the picnic area until dark. You may also bring recreation equipment and toys. Be prepared for rain showers. The group picnic area has latrines, a pump well, grills, covered picnic tables and plenty of space to park and to play. It also gets chilly after dark so you might want a jacket and don't forget the bug repellant. Directions: From the Global Resource Center, go East on 12th to Pope (first light). Turn left on Pope. Make another left at the next light, BEFORE Ed’s do it yourself center. Watch out on the right for Little Walnut Rd. Turn North (right). Stay on this road and you will come to the group picnic area. Follow the signs to Gomez. Peak.
